Linda Prater

Ms. Linda Lou Mobley Prater passed away peacefully at Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center on December 30, 2024, at the age of 80. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm (CST) Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Hebron Cemetery. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Harold (Ty) Prater and parents, Thomas Houston Mobley and Mattie Lou Cannon Mobley. 

 Ms. Linda was a native of Cherokee County and worked for the Cherokee County Board of Education for 39 years in a number of positions. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and pianist for many years. 

She was an avid reader of the Bible and found solace and strength in scripture. She found simple joys in her daily routines and savored the comfort of a good cup of coffee. Linda was a graduate of Auburn University and an avid Auburn fan and loved her horse, Leon. Her favorite flowers were roses and gladiolus. 

Pallbearers include Nick Mobley, Jared Mobley, Buddy Prater, Richard Peek, Gravis Swafford, and Danny Walker. 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hebron cemetery fund.
